THE HONORABLE JUDGE DAN CONKLIN
Judge Conklin has served on the bench for over 21 years, presiding over hundreds of civil and criminal bench and jury trials. He previously served as an Associate Circuit Judge and has spent the past two years as a Circuit Judge, where he has also served as the Presiding Judge. He has been a strong advocate for increasing the number of judges in Greene County to better serve the public. Additionally, he has been involved in a number of community organizations and has been a liaison to the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, helping to facilitate communications between the bench and the bar. In 2009, he was recognized as one of Missouri’s best judges.

He is certified in the state of Missouri as a Public Accountant, Valuation Analyst, Fraud Examiner, Financial Forensics Expert, and Certified Merger and Acquisition Professional. Ms. Stephenson is Of Counsel for Lathrop & Gage LLP in Springfield, Missouri in the torts and litigation departments. She has practiced law for more than twenty years, the past thirteen of which have primarily been in Missouri. She has defended cases in more than ten counties in Missouri, as well as in federal court. She has obtained two of the top defense verdicts in a given year in Missouri, including a case of first impression where the plaintiff sought more than $30 million in damages. She has successfully defended more than 50 jury trials and numerous bench trials. Prior to practicing in Missouri, she was in-house counsel for AEGON Corporation and Capital Indemnity Corporation, where she was responsible for handling coverage matters and managing litigation in several states involving ERISA, dram shop actions, bad faith, professional liability and coverage.
