On behalf of Veterans Business Resource Center, ProNet International Gifts & Scholarships, Inc., and Compensated Work Therapy - Dept of Veterans Affairs, we wish to invite you to attend the Veterans Small Business and Career Transition Summit, Saturday, October 2 from 8:00am – 3:30pm at VBRC 4236 Lindell Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63108. The session titled Successful Transition: Turning Your Unique Skills into a Business or Career will provide transitioning military an opportunity to meet with successful business professionals and obtain helpful information on transitioning from the military into careers or small businesses in Missouri and Illinois.

It is our desire to educate Veterans, and companies interested in working with or hiring Veterans, on how to successfully create solid and strong working relationships. These conversations are designed to provide Veterans an opportunity to understand how to utilize their unique military experience and skills, and create new skills, to help obtain gainful employment and/or start a new business. Your company representative will have an opportunity to meet quality Veterans and discuss mutual benefits to working together.

Through panel discussions and breakout sessions led by successful Veteran business owners, Veterans will learn about the Federal and State government 3 percent procurement goals. As well as understanding the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), a federal tax credit that offers an incentive for private sector businesses to hire individuals from 12 targeted groups that have consistently faced significant barriers to employment, which includes veterans.

Lunch is offered for all registered participants and space is limited. Please advise by September 2, 2010 if you plan to attend.
